Service Manager – Franchised Dealership WestMidlands

 

We are currently working with a successful and established franchised dealer group who are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated Service Manager to join their team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced automotive Service Manager looking to take the next step in their career within a professional, customer-focused franchised dealership environment.

The Role

As Service Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation and performance of the Service Department, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction, workshop productivity and financial performance.

You will lead and motivate the Service and Workshop teams, ensuring manufacturer standards and processes are consistently maintained while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operation of the Service Department.
  • Leading, motivating and developing Service Advisors, Technicians and Workshop staff.
  • Managing workshop workload, productivity and efficiency.
  • Monitoring departmental performance against agreed targets and budgets.
  • Maintaining consistently high levels of Customer Satisfaction (CSI).
  • Ensuring manufacturer standards, processes and procedures are followed.
  • Monitoring workshop efficiency, labour sales and departmental profitability.
  • Managing customer complaints and ensuring effective resolutions.
  • Working closely with Parts, Sales and other departments to maximise departmental performance.
  • Identifying training and development requirements within the team.
  • Maintaining high standards of health & safety, housekeeping and compliance.
  • Reviewing management information and taking appropriate action to improve performance.
  • Developing a strong “right first time” culture throughout the department.
  • Ensuring accurate job cards, invoicing and warranty processes.
  • Supporting the wider management team in achieving overall dealership objectives.

About You

The successful candidate will have previous Service Manager or senior Aftersales management experience within a franchised automotive dealership.

You will be an experienced people manager with a strong understanding of workshop operations, customer service, manufacturer standards and departmental profitability.

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a Service Manager within a franchised dealership.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive aftersales operations.
  • A proven track record of achieving strong CSI/customer satisfaction results.
  • Experience managing and developing a team of Technicians and Service Advisors.
  • Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and customer-handling skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • High levels of integrity, professionalism and accountability.
  • A full UK driving licence.

The Person

You will be enthusiastic, professional and customer-focused, with the leadership skills required to motivate a busy Service Department.

You will be commercially aware while maintaining a strong focus on customer satisfaction and manufacturer standards.

You will have the resilience and drive to achieve results, together with the ability to build strong working relationships with customers, colleagues and manufacturer representatives.

Package

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 DOE

Company car and fuel available if required
