Our client is a highly regarded independent vehicle service and repair facility in Mid-Somerset, and they are looking for an experienced, knowledgeable and friendly Vehicle Technician to join their team.
This is a great opportunity for a technician who enjoys working in a relaxed, supportive and genuinely friendly environment, away from the pressures and corporate structure of a large franchised dealership.
The business works on a varied range of vehicles, and experience with German vehicles and Volvo would be particularly advantageous.
The Role
You will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and repairing vehicles to a high standard, using modern diagnostic equipment and your own technical expertise.
The successful candidate will be confident in diagnosing faults, finding effective solutions and making recommendations to improve vehicle reliability and workshop efficiency.
You will also be expected to work effectively to the productivity and efficiency standards set by the After-Sales Management team, while maintaining excellent levels of workmanship and customer service.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- A recognised qualification or be an experienced, time-served Motor Vehicle Technician
- Strong technical knowledge and practical diagnostic experience
- The ability to use modern vehicle diagnostic equipment
- Experience diagnosing and resolving electrical and mechanical faults
- A commitment to producing work to the highest quality standards
- Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
- A friendly, professional attitude and excellent communication skills
- The ability to work independently as well as being a strong team player
- Good housekeeping and organisational standards
- A full UK driving licence
An MOT Tester qualification (VOSA/Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency accredited) would be a distinct advantage.
Experience with German vehicles, Volvo or motorhomes would also be highly desirable, but applications from strong technicians without these specific backgrounds are welcome.
