MOTOR VEHICLE TECHNICIAN (Master Tech)- Leamington SPA

Monday to Friday - No Saturday Working

£50K Plus OTE

Our Client and mutli-franchised dealer group is looking for a Master Technician.

 

As a Master Technician you are a highly experienced expert in vehicle repair, diagnosing complex issues, performing advanced repairs, and mentoring junior staff, acting as the technical leader in a workshop. Your duties involve everything from routine maintenance and complex diagnostics (electrical, computer systems, drivability) to ensuring safety, maintaining records, and staying updated on manufacturer standards, often specializing in specific brands within a dealership.  
 
Key Responsibilities
    • Advanced Diagnostics: 
      Identify and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and computer-related faults. 
       
  • Complex Repairs: 
    Perform advanced component replacement and repair, including fuel injection, anti-lock brakes, and transmissions. 
     
  • Mentorship: 
    Guide and train less experienced technicians on procedures and problem-solving. 
     
  • Quality Control: 
    Ensure all work meets dealership, factory, and safety standards, often with a focus on first-time fixes. 
     
  • Shop Operations: 
    Assist management with parts ordering, workflow, and maintaining a clean, organized shop. 
     
  • Technical Expertise: 
    Stay current with manufacturer bulletins and participate in ongoing training. 
     
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Extensive experience (often 5+ years) and advanced certifications.
  • Deep knowledge of manufacturer-specific systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and specialized tools.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. 
     
Role within the Team
  • Acts as the go-to technical expert for challenging repairs.
  • Supports the Service Manager and Workshop Controller.
  • May handle customer communication for complex issues, explaining technical details clearly.

• Delivering our Duty of Care: To ensure 100% compliance with the Vehicle Health Check process and that repair order write ups are clear and concise specifying Fault Cause & Rectification. 

• Standards: To maintain your work area, tools and equipment to a high standard and ensure you understand and comply with all health and safety regulations and that customer vehicles are appropriately protected while in our care.
