Service Advisor - Birmingham

We have received an instruction from one of our Midlands based dealer group clients requesting our assistance in their recruitment of a Service Advisor.

 

OTE £30K - £32 DOE

The position is based at their dealership in the West Midlands and requires candidates who live within an easy commute

The role involves managing the customer experience from when they initially make contact with the dealership with regards to service work on their vehicle through to the work being completed and the follow up call afterwards.As a Service Advisor your role is extremely important within the business because you are the customers point of contact.

It is important that you have excellent interpersonal skills and are extremely well organised with strong IT skills.It is also important that you are a team player who is able to build excellent working relations with colleagues to ensure that all work is completed in line with customer expectations

You also need to be confident and be able to upsell additional products which is a key source of income for the dept

We would prefer candidates who are currently working in the same or very similar role within a dealership

The Role:

  • To provide high levels of customer service on the service reception desk, ensuring there is good communication between Technicians and customers, ensuring their vehicles are ready on time to the agreed standard.
  • To ensure the service customers receive prompt, courteous and effective repair of their vehicles within the guidelines of the policies and procedures of the dealership.
  • To liaise with the Workshop Foreman regarding the most effective way of carrying out the work required, taking account of the skills of the workforce, the priorities of the business and the cost implication.
  • To ensure all work is correctly invoiced and payment received, handling customer queries courteously and within company policy at all times.
  • To maintain close liaison with customers, to ensure maximum customer retention.
  • To ensure effective collection and delivery of customers’ vehicles including administering hire / loan cars as required.
  • To be responsible for the standards of appearance, safety and discipline and work within the department.

The Person:
This is very hands-on role and the person appointed will have:

  • Able to provide outstanding customer service
  • Have excellent communication, organisation and inter-personal skills
  • Possess a good attention to detail be flexible and possess a GSoH
  • Be able to comply with all company and manufacturer’s disciplines and procedures
  • The Service Advisor will preferably have a Motor Trade experience background but it is essential to have customer facing experience and a confident / influencing style, which are the key components
