Car Servicing Technician – Major Car Franchise - DORCHESTER

We have been asked by a leading brand franchised Car Dealership in Dorchester to provide our assistance in their recruitment of an experienced after-sales professional for the position of Workshop Controller.

The main part of this role is to control and manage workshop efficiency, optimising resources and people, providing superlative levels of accuracy and productivity whilst providing a courteous, professional and advisory customer satisfaction in line with the nature of the vehicle brand.

Applicants must have good people, communication and keyboard skills, and already be able to organise work in a precision technical car service environment.

You must also have the ability to maintain results and operating efficiency as well as the ability to lead and motivate a dedicated team, also assuring the highest levels of CSI, KPI and QC at all times, and these disciplines are seen as key to this appointment.

Key objectives and responsibilities will include:

Achievement of Daily / Monthly Revenue Targets & Budgets

Focus on Workshop Efficiency and minimise Technician idle time

Quality Control Check Programmes & Manufacturer Brand Compliance.

Job Card Quality and supporting documentation

Security of Tools, equipment, including stock checks

Control access to the Workshops and Workshop Yards.

Discipline of any subordinate Workshop Staff

Cleanliness of Workshops

Ensuring compliance and enforcement of all Health & Safety legislation.

Ensuring Audit “Pass” for all manufacturer(s) & ISO Audits

Strict Accounting, Control & Distribution of all consumables for the Workshop

Regular complete stock checks must be supervised for Tooling and special equipment and the relevant submission made to the Manager responsible.

Responsible to ensure that all parts required for daily jobs have been ordered and have arrived in advance of the job diary date.

Liaison with The Booking Advisor to review all job cards appointments

Quality Control of Service washes and relationship with Valeting sub-contractor(s)

Responsible for the daily managing and running of this department and ensuring that the department is adequately staffed during business opening times

Daily Customer work progress communication & Upsell communication for cars in progress (being worked on)
